Bismuth-antimony alloys (Bi 1-x Sb x ) are binary alloys of bismuth and antimony in varying ratios. Some, notably Bi 0.9 Sb 0.1 , were the first experimentally observed three-dimensional topological insulators, materials with conductive surface states but an insulating interior. Various BiSb alloys are also used in low-temperature thermoelectric devices.

The presented measurement was performed on a thermally vapor-deposited thin film of Bi 87 Sb 13. The thermal resistance (light blue curve) decreases with temperature, which contradicts the behavior of a solid metal conductor, but is typical for a semiconductor.

The Hall constant and the carrier mobility decrease slightly with temperature (dark blue and red curves).
