This makes it all the more important to conduct a thorough investigation of the actual properties of these materials, which can vary greatly depending on production conditions and the composition of the mixture. Composite materials are widely used in industries ranging from electronics to construction.
The following measurement demonstrates the determination of the thermal conductivity, temperature conductivity, and specific heat of a ceramic-filled polymer, which was performed using a THB-100 (new models: THB Basic, Advance, Ultimate).
To this end, the sample and the sensor (sandwich configuration) were placed in an oven. The measurement was performed from room temperature up to 90 °C.
The specific heat of the sample increases as the thermal conductivity decreases within the temperature range.
The thermal conductivity remains nearly constant at 0.44 W/mK and shows only minor increases or decreases in this value.
