Silicon-germanium alloys are commonly used as semiconductor materials in electronics.
In addition, they are highly temperature-stable thermoelectric materials and are therefore frequently used under harsh environmental conditions, such as in space missions or in the recovery of high-temperature waste heat.
LSR measurements of a newly developed alloy were conducted over a temperature range of 50 °C to 270 °C and show an increase in specific resistance.
At the same time, the absolute Seebeck coefficient was measured, and here an initial increase up to approximately 140 °C and then a decrease in the Seebeck coefficient can be observed.
