High Pressure Thermal Analysis

DSC, Thermobalances (TGA), TGA-DSC and Dilatometers up to 150 bar

LINSEIS high pressure thermal analysers work according to the same measurement as their ambient pressure models but allow to be run up to 150 bar pressure at high temperature. This allows studying pressure depending phenomena like sorption or chemical reactions. Both are of highest interest for developing new materials and processes for renewable (green) energies.

In hydrogen technology, hydrogen storage is crucial and storage materials (metal hydrides) and storage conditions (pressure, temperature) are to be studied.

A further example is biomass gasification. Process parameters to convert biomass in so called syngas which can be used as fuel or as precursor for methanol or other useful chemicals can be studied varying pressure, temperature and chemical composition of the gas atmosphere. All this can be simulated in LINSEIS High Pressure Analysers.
