A entalpia das transi\u00e7\u00f5es de fase e a capacidade t\u00e9rmica podem ser determinadas a partir do sinal DSC. <\/strong><\/p><p>A amostra foi aquecida num cadinho de alum\u00ednio fechado a 180 \u00b0C a uma taxa de aquecimento de 10 K\/min e mantida isot\u00e9rmica durante 3 horas. A curva azul mostra a <strong>perda de massa<\/strong> e a curva vermelha o <strong>sinal DSC<\/strong>. <\/p><p>O primeiro pico no <strong>sinal DSC<\/strong> \u00e9 causado pela fus\u00e3o da amostra. O in\u00edcio do pico de fus\u00e3o d\u00e1-se a 46 \u00b0C. <\/p><p>Ap\u00f3s a fus\u00e3o completa da amostra, ocorre um segundo pico endot\u00e9rmico com um in\u00edcio a 141 \u00b0C. O <strong>sinal TG<\/strong> mostra uma perda de peso de 32 % neste intervalo de temperatura. A \u00e1gua de cristaliza\u00e7\u00e3o do nitrato de c\u00e1lcio tetra-hidratado \u00e9 separada e forma-se um sal anidro s\u00f3lido.  <\/p><p>Durante o tempo de manuten\u00e7\u00e3o isot\u00e9rmica a 180 \u00b0C, a amostra n\u00e3o sofre mais altera\u00e7\u00f5es, o que significa que esta temperatura \u00e9 ideal para secar o sal e obter o sal anidro.<\/p><p>Quando aquecido novamente a 541 \u00b0C, ocorre um pico endot\u00e9rmico. O sal anidro funde-se. No entanto, o <strong>sinal TG<\/strong> mostra uma perda de peso. Isto indica que o sal se decomp\u00f5e durante a fus\u00e3o. Por isso, a <strong>entalpia de fus\u00e3o<\/strong> e a <strong>capacidade t\u00e9rmica<\/strong> do sal anidro fundido n\u00e3o podem ser medidas diretamente.    <\/p><p>No entanto, isto pode ser conseguido atrav\u00e9s de <strong>medi\u00e7\u00f5es TG-DSC<\/strong> adicionais de misturas de sais. O nitrato de c\u00e1lcio deve ser misturado com nitrato de l\u00edtio, de s\u00f3dio ou de pot\u00e1ssio em diferentes percentagens molares. As <strong>entalpias de fus\u00e3o<\/strong> podem ser determinadas a partir dos picos de fus\u00e3o DSC das misturas. Aqui, os sais fundidos servem tanto para <strong>armazenar calor<\/strong> como para transferir o calor gerado no n\u00facleo do reator. <\/p><p>Existem v\u00e1rios m\u00e9todos para determinar a <strong>condutividade t\u00e9rmica<\/strong> de l\u00edquidos, cada um dos quais com as suas vantagens e desvantagens. Deve ser evitada a gera\u00e7\u00e3o de perdas de calor por convec\u00e7\u00e3o e radia\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9rmica durante a medi\u00e7\u00e3o, uma vez que estas introduzem erros de medi\u00e7\u00e3o significativos e, por conseguinte, produzem resultados errados. A convec\u00e7\u00e3o ocorre, por exemplo, com m\u00e9todos estacion\u00e1rios devido \u00e0 aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de gradientes de temperatura necess\u00e1rios para a medi\u00e7\u00e3o, que s\u00e3o amplificados pelos tempos de medi\u00e7\u00e3o tipicamente muito longos.  <\/p><p>O m\u00e9todo mais promissor para determinar a condutividade t\u00e9rmica de sais fundidos \u00e9 o<strong> m\u00e9todo de flash laser<\/strong>, uma vez que se trata de uma medi\u00e7\u00e3o absoluta e, por conseguinte, n\u00e3o requer calibra\u00e7\u00e3o com um material de refer\u00eancia. Al\u00e9m disso, os efeitos de convec\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o minimizados devido \u00e0 pequena quantidade de amostra necess\u00e1ria e aos curtos tempos de medi\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p><p>No entanto, como <strong>o m\u00e9todo de flash laser<\/strong> foi concebido principalmente para materiais homog\u00e9neos e s\u00f3lidos, \u00e9 necess\u00e1ria a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de um suporte de amostras especial.<\/p><p>A Figura 2 mostra o esquema do cadinho de amostra constru\u00eddo. O cadinho \u00e9 feito de grafite, uma vez que pode suportar as propriedades corrosivas do sal mesmo a temperaturas mais elevadas. A base e a tampa s\u00e3o fixas de modo a que a espessura da amostra no centro do cadinho seja definida a uma certa dist\u00e2ncia. O design tamb\u00e9m proporciona espa\u00e7o adicional nos lados para que o material possa expandir-se a temperaturas mais elevadas. A tampa \u00e9 igualmente dotada de orif\u00edcios para que os gases produzidos pelo material possam sair.
