pelo Dr. John C. A sua elevada ramifica\u00e7\u00e3o confere-lhe uma baixa densidade, bem como uma menor dureza, rigidez e temperatura de fus\u00e3o em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com outros tipos de polietileno. <\/p><p>Devido \u00e0 sua baixa <strong>cristalinidade<\/strong>, <strong>o LDPE<\/strong> \u00e9 um pol\u00edmero amorfo, o que significa que n\u00e3o tem uma estrutura cristalina regular. Em vez disso, consiste num arranjo irregular de cadeias de pol\u00edmeros, resultando numa estrutura amorfa e n\u00e3o cristalina. <\/p><p>Esta baixa <strong>cristalinidade<\/strong> confere ao <strong>PEBD<\/strong> a sua flexibilidade e resist\u00eancia carater\u00edsticas, o que o torna adequado para aplica\u00e7\u00f5es como pel\u00edculas, embalagens e contentores. Um exemplo not\u00e1vel disto \u00e9 a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de pel\u00edcula retr\u00e1til. <\/p><p>Na produ\u00e7\u00e3o destas pel\u00edculas, <strong>o LDPE<\/strong> \u00e9 normalmente aquecido a temperaturas pr\u00f3ximas do seu ponto de fus\u00e3o, frequentemente a cerca de 110 \u00b0C. Neste estado, o material torna-se el\u00e1stico e f\u00e1cil de moldar.
