No caso mais simples, uma transi\u00e7\u00e3o de fase descreve a mudan\u00e7a pura de um estado agregado, por exemplo, de s\u00f3lido para l\u00edquido. <\/p><p>As transi\u00e7\u00f5es de fase s\u00e3o normalmente classificadas de acordo com a chamada classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de Ehrenfest, segundo Paul <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phasen%C3%BCbergang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n  <strong>Ehrenfest.<\/strong>\n<\/a><\/p><p>As vari\u00e1veis termodin\u00e2micas volume, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/startseite\/messgroessen\/enthalpie\/\">\n  <strong>entalpia<\/strong>\n<\/a> ou entropia s\u00e3o normalmente consideradas como uma fun\u00e7\u00e3o da temperatura.<\/p><p>As transi\u00e7\u00f5es de fase s\u00e3o ent\u00e3o classificadas nas chamadas ordens, em que a n-\u00e9sima ordem da fun\u00e7\u00e3o da vari\u00e1vel em considera\u00e7\u00e3o tem uma descontinuidade na n-\u00e9sima derivada em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 temperatura. A fun\u00e7\u00e3o em si e a n-\u00e9sima derivada s\u00e3o cont\u00ednuas. A maioria das transi\u00e7\u00f5es de fase \u00e9 acompanhada pela absor\u00e7\u00e3o (endot\u00e9rmica) ou liberta\u00e7\u00e3o (exot\u00e9rmica) de energia, que pode ser detectada como uma altera\u00e7\u00e3o do fluxo de calor. <\/p><p>O DSC mede estas altera\u00e7\u00f5es de temperatura utilizando um ou mais termopares que est\u00e3o em contacto com o suporte da amostra, comparando assim a temperatura exacta da amostra com a temperatura ambiente e com uma amostra de refer\u00eancia. O fluxo de calor exato da amostra num determinado momento pode ent\u00e3o ser lido a partir da diferen\u00e7a entre a refer\u00eancia e a amostra. No caso de uma diferen\u00e7a no fluxo de calor entre a amostra e a refer\u00eancia, o sinal da diferen\u00e7a indica se est\u00e1 presente um processo endot\u00e9rmico ou exot\u00e9rmico.  <\/p><p>A posi\u00e7\u00e3o do efeito que ocorre quando \u00e9 tra\u00e7ado contra a temperatura tamb\u00e9m indica muito precisamente quando ocorre. Quanto mais precisa for a medi\u00e7\u00e3o da temperatura exacta da amostra, melhor ser\u00e1 a resolu\u00e7\u00e3o e a sensibilidade do DSC. <\/p><p>No caso de transi\u00e7\u00f5es de fase, especialmente transi\u00e7\u00f5es de fase de segunda ordem, a velocidade de aquecimento \u00e9 muito importante para a dete\u00e7\u00e3o da transi\u00e7\u00e3o. Se a taxa de aquecimento for demasiado lenta, os efeitos s\u00e3o frequentemente pouco detect\u00e1veis, uma vez que a diferen\u00e7a de energia entre a amostra e a refer\u00eancia \u00e9 compensada pelo forno ou aquecedor.
