Originalmente concebido principalmente para aplica\u00e7\u00f5es em pol\u00edmeros, o Linseis TMA PT 1600 (TMA L72) foi recentemente atualizado para medir materiais mais duros, como ligas met\u00e1licas e metais puros, utilizando gamas de for\u00e7a at\u00e9 20 N, aumentando o tamanho poss\u00edvel da amostra. O ensaio foi efectuado a 50 \u00b0C e est\u00e1 muito pr\u00f3ximo dos dados da literatura. Na presente aplica\u00e7\u00e3o, duas variantes hist\u00f3ricas de tijolos foram analisadas e comparadas com tijolos contempor\u00e2neos semelhantes em termos da sua expans\u00e3o a diferentes n\u00edveis de humidade. Para o efeito, os materiais foram primeiro medidos em modo de expans\u00e3o linear com um Linseis TMA PT 1600 (TMA L72). O resultado foi uma dilata\u00e7\u00e3o linear. A mesma experi\u00eancia foi depois repetida utilizando um gerador de vapor de \u00e1gua para simular uma humidade relativa de 35%. As amostras foram expostas a estas condi\u00e7\u00f5es durante 2 horas e, em seguida, o coeficiente de dilata\u00e7\u00e3o foi novamente determinado em fun\u00e7\u00e3o da temperatura, mantendo a humidade constante. O resultado mostra um claro aumento no comportamento da expans\u00e3o linear devido ao incha\u00e7o do material. Este efeito ocorre em qualquer humidade e deve ser cuidadosamente considerado ao calcular a expans\u00e3o destes materiais para cada aplica\u00e7\u00e3o.
