Nel metodo laser speckle, la superficie del campione viene illuminata con un laser e osservata dall&#8217;alto con una telecamera. Allo stesso tempo, il campione viene riscaldato con una bobina a induzione. L&#8217;espansione misurata \u00e8 indipendente dall&#8217;espansione dell&#8217;asta di taglio.<br>Un grande vantaggio rispetto alla misurazione LVDT \u00e8 che la temperatura \u00e8 distribuita in modo molto pi\u00f9 omogeneo sulla piccola area registrata dalla telecamera piuttosto che sull&#8217;intera lunghezza del campione.
