utilizzato principalmente per misurare le temperature con le termocoppie e sta diventando sempre pi\u00f9 importante nella conversione del calore residuo in energia elettrica attraverso i generatori termoelettrici. I processi sono reversibili. Il processo inverso, in cui le differenze di tensione generano differenze di temperatura, \u00e8 l&#8217;effetto Peltier, utilizzato per il raffreddamento nella microelettronica e nelle nanotecnologie.<\/p>\n<p>Una misura fondamentale per valutare l&#8217;efficienza dei materiali termoelettrici \u00e8 il fattore di merito ZT, un indicatore adimensionale che descrive le prestazioni di un materiale. Il valore ZT aumenta con il quadrato del coefficiente di Seebeck, la temperatura operativa assoluta media e la conduttivit\u00e0 elettrica, mentre diminuisce con la conduttivit\u00e0 termica specifica. Queste variabili dipendono dalla temperatura e le propriet\u00e0 del materiale devono essere incluse nel calcolo della cifra di merito in funzione della temperatura. L&#8217;equazione di definizione \u00e8<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ZT-formula-2-1.png\" alt=\"Formula ZT\" width=\"221\" height=\"115\"><\/p>\n<p>Per determinare il valore ZT di conduttori elettrici e semiconduttori, si utilizzano strumenti di misura precisi, come quelli offerti da Linseis, per misurare le propriet\u00e0 del materiale richieste. Se la differenza di temperatura \u00e8 piccola e i coefficienti di Seebeck possono essere considerati costanti, la formula della tensione \u00e8 semplificata:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20483\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel.png\" alt=\"Formula del coefficiente di Seebeck\" width=\"349\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel.png 349w, https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel-300x72.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 349px) 100vw, 349px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><sub>SA<\/sub> e<sub>SB<\/sub> rappresentano i coefficienti di Seebeck dei due materiali, mentre <sub>T1<\/sub> e <sub>T2<\/sub> rappresentano le temperature dei due punti di contatto. La tensione viene creata dalla diffusione termica, in cui gli elettroni ad alta energia si diffondono nel punto di contatto caldo in direzione del conduttore pi\u00f9 freddo. Questo comporta un trasporto costante di elettroni dal conduttore positivo a quello negativo, con un trasferimento di energia termica oltre che di energia elettrica. Tuttavia, questo trasferimento di calore riduce l&#8217;efficienza dell&#8217;effetto Seebeck.<\/p>\n<p>Maggiore \u00e8 la conduttivit\u00e0 elettrica e minore \u00e8 la conduttivit\u00e0 termica del materiale utilizzato, maggiore \u00e8 l&#8217;efficienza di una termocoppia. Un criterio decisivo per le propriet\u00e0 di un conduttore termoelettrico \u00e8 il cosiddetto<br>&#8220;fattore di merito&#8221; (ZT). Questo valore tiene gi\u00e0 in considerazione tutte le variabili rilevanti come la temperatura, il coefficiente di Seebeck, la conduttivit\u00e0 termica e la conduttivit\u00e0 elettrica.<\/p>\n<p>Nell&#8217;applicazione tecnica delle termocoppie, due meccanismi lavorano insieme per generare una tensione misurabile. In primo luogo, un gradiente di temperatura fa s\u00ec che i portatori di carica si diffondano dall&#8217;estremit\u00e0 calda a quella fredda del conduttore, il che porta a una tensione nell&#8217;ordine dei millivolt e dipende dal coefficiente di Seebeck.
