principalement utilis\u00e9 pour mesurer les temp\u00e9ratures avec des thermocouples et prend de plus en plus d&rsquo;importance dans la conversion de la chaleur perdue en \u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique par des g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs thermo\u00e9lectriques. Les processus sont r\u00e9versibles. Le processus inverse, dans lequel les diff\u00e9rences de tension g\u00e9n\u00e8rent des diff\u00e9rences de temp\u00e9rature, est l&rsquo;effet Peltier, utilis\u00e9 pour le refroidissement en micro\u00e9lectronique et en nanotechnologies.<\/p><p>Une mesure centrale pour \u00e9valuer l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 des mat\u00e9riaux thermo\u00e9lectriques est le coefficient de qualit\u00e9 ZT, un indice sans dimension qui d\u00e9crit la performance d&rsquo;un mat\u00e9riau. La valeur ZT augmente avec le carr\u00e9 du coefficient Seebeck, la temp\u00e9rature de fonctionnement absolue moyenne et la conductivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique, tandis qu&rsquo;elle diminue avec la conductivit\u00e9 thermique sp\u00e9cifique. Ces grandeurs d\u00e9pendent de la temp\u00e9rature et les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des mat\u00e9riaux doivent \u00eatre prises en compte dans le calcul du coefficient de qualit\u00e9 en fonction de la temp\u00e9rature. L&rsquo;\u00e9quation de d\u00e9finition est la suivante :<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ZT-formula-2-1.png\" alt=\"ZT formula\" width=\"221\" height=\"115\" \/><\/p><p>Pour d\u00e9terminer la valeur ZT des conducteurs \u00e9lectriques et des semi-conducteurs, on utilise des instruments de mesure pr\u00e9cis, tels que ceux propos\u00e9s par Linseis, afin de mesurer les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des mat\u00e9riaux n\u00e9cessaires. Si la diff\u00e9rence de temp\u00e9rature est faible et que les coefficients Seebeck peuvent \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme constants, la formule de tension se simplifie en :<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20483\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel.png\" alt=\"Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel\" width=\"349\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel.png 349w, https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel-300x72.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 349px) 100vw, 349px\" \/><\/p><p>S<sub>A<\/sub> et S<sub>B<\/sub> repr\u00e9sentent les coefficients Seebeck des deux mat\u00e9riaux, tandis que T<sub>1<\/sub> et T<sub>2<\/sub> repr\u00e9sentent les temp\u00e9ratures aux deux points de contact. La tension r\u00e9sulte de la diffusion thermique, au cours de laquelle des \u00e9lectrons riches en \u00e9nergie se diffusent au point de contact chaud en direction du conducteur plus froid. Il en r\u00e9sulte un transport constant d&rsquo;\u00e9lectrons du conducteur positif vers le conducteur n\u00e9gatif, avec un transfert d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie thermique en plus de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique. Ce transfert de chaleur r\u00e9duit toutefois l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;effet Seebeck.<\/p><p>Le rendement d&rsquo;un thermocouple est d&rsquo;autant plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 que la conductivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique est grande et que la conductivit\u00e9 thermique du mat\u00e9riau utilis\u00e9 est faible. Un crit\u00e8re d\u00e9terminant pour les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s d&rsquo;un conducteur thermo\u00e9lectrique est ce que l&rsquo;on appelle la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/fr\/proprietes\/zt-figure-de-merite\/\"><strong>\u00ab figure of merit \u00bb (ZT)<\/strong><\/a>. Ce chiffre tient d\u00e9j\u00e0 compte de toutes les grandeurs pertinentes comme la temp\u00e9rature, le coefficient Seebeck, la conductivit\u00e9 thermique et la conductivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique.<\/p><p>Dans l&rsquo;application technique des thermocouples, deux m\u00e9canismes interagissent pour produire une tension mesurable. D&rsquo;une part, un gradient de temp\u00e9rature provoque une diffusion des porteurs de charge de l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 chaude vers l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 froide du conducteur, ce qui entra\u00eene une tension de l&rsquo;ordre du millivolt et d\u00e9pend du coefficient Seebeck.
