Comprende toda la materia org\u00e1nica de origen vegetal, animal o microbiano presente en un ecosistema determinado en un momento dado.  El aprovechamiento energ\u00e9tico y material de la biomasa permite reducir las fuentes de energ\u00eda f\u00f3siles y contribuye significativamente a la descarbonizaci\u00f3n y a la econom\u00eda circular [Osman et al., 2021].<\/p><p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">La complejidad de la biomasa -desde los residuos le\u00f1osos hasta los residuos agr\u00edcolas y las fracciones biog\u00e9nicas mezcladas- plantea distintos retos t\u00e9cnicos, ecol\u00f3gicos y econ\u00f3micos [Mahapatra et al., 2021]. Los aditivos como la humedad, las cenizas, el nitr\u00f3geno y el azufre influyen en la calidad de la combusti\u00f3n, las emisiones y el rendimiento energ\u00e9tico. El resto se utiliza para el aprovechamiento de materiales o como sustrato para la producci\u00f3n de gas de s\u00edntesis e hidr\u00f3geno [DBFZ, 2025]. <\/p><p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">En t\u00e9rminos de estrategia pol\u00edtica, la atenci\u00f3n se est\u00e1 desplazando hacia la integraci\u00f3n de sistemas sostenibles.
