principalmente para medir temperaturas con termopares y cada vez es m\u00e1s importante en la conversi\u00f3n de calor residual en energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica mediante generadores termoel\u00e9ctricos. Los procesos son reversibles. El proceso inverso, en el que las diferencias de tensi\u00f3n generan diferencias de temperatura, es el efecto Peltier, que se utiliza para la refrigeraci\u00f3n en microelectr\u00f3nica y nanotecnolog\u00eda.<br \/>Una medida clave para evaluar la eficiencia de los materiales termoel\u00e9ctricos es la figura de m\u00e9rito ZT, un indicador adimensional que describe el rendimiento de un material. El valor ZT aumenta con el cuadrado del coeficiente Seebeck, la temperatura media absoluta de funcionamiento y la conductividad el\u00e9ctrica, mientras que disminuye con la conductividad t\u00e9rmica espec\u00edfica. Estas variables dependen de la temperatura y las propiedades del material deben incluirse en el c\u00e1lculo del factor de m\u00e9rito en funci\u00f3n de la temperatura. La ecuaci\u00f3n de definici\u00f3n es la siguiente:<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ZT-formula-2-1.png\" alt=\"ZT formula\" width=\"221\" height=\"115\" \/><\/p><p>Para determinar el valor ZT de conductores el\u00e9ctricos y semiconductores, se utilizan dispositivos de medici\u00f3n precisos como los que ofrece Linseis para medir las propiedades necesarias del material. Si la diferencia de temperatura es peque\u00f1a y los coeficientes Seebeck pueden considerarse constantes, la f\u00f3rmula de la tensi\u00f3n se simplifica:<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20483\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel.png\" alt=\"Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel\" width=\"349\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel.png 349w, https:\/\/www.linseis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Seebeck-Koeffizient-Formel-300x72.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 349px) 100vw, 349px\" \/><\/p><p>Aqu\u00ed S<sub>A<\/sub> y <sub>SB<\/sub> representan los coeficientes Seebeck de los dos materiales, mientras que <sub>T1<\/sub> y <sub>T2<\/sub> representan las temperaturas en los dos puntos de contacto. La tensi\u00f3n se crea por difusi\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica, en la que los electrones de alta energ\u00eda se difunden en el punto de contacto caliente en direcci\u00f3n al conductor m\u00e1s fr\u00edo. Esto conduce a un transporte constante de electrones del conductor positivo al negativo, por lo que se transfiere energ\u00eda t\u00e9rmica adem\u00e1s de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica. Sin embargo, esta transferencia de calor reduce la eficacia del efecto Seebeck.<\/p><p>Cuanto mayor sea la conductividad el\u00e9ctrica y menor la conductividad t\u00e9rmica del material utilizado, mayor ser\u00e1 la eficacia de un termopar. Un criterio decisivo para las propiedades de un conductor termoel\u00e9ctrico es la llamada \u00abcifra de m\u00e9rito\u00bb (ZT). Esta cifra ya tiene en cuenta todas las variables relevantes, como la temperatura, el coeficiente Seebeck, la conductividad t\u00e9rmica y la conductividad el\u00e9ctrica.<\/p><p>En la aplicaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica de los termopares, dos mecanismos act\u00faan conjuntamente para generar una tensi\u00f3n medible. En primer lugar, un gradiente de temperatura provoca una difusi\u00f3n de portadores de carga del extremo caliente al extremo fr\u00edo del conductor, lo que da lugar a una tensi\u00f3n en el rango de los milivoltios y depende del coeficiente Seebeck.
