GSA PT 1000 - Gravimetric Sorption Analyzer

High End Pressure Sorption Measurements

GSA PT 1000 - Gravimetric Sorption Analyzer

Gravimetric Sorption Analyzer Series - Linseis GSA PT 1000:

Linseis offers a wide range of Gravimetric Sorption Analyzers. Our integrated solution offers the ability to independently software control the pressure, temperature and gas dosing. Our GSA PT 1000 line is based on the well proven linseis microbalance design. This ultra sensitive microbalance is available in two version 0,1 / 1 ug for 5 / 25 g sample weight. A number of environmental chambers are available for operations from -150 up to 1800°C and UHV (ultra high vacuum) to 350 bar. An optional TG-DSC Thermogravimetry – Differential Scanning Calorimetry measuring head allows the simultaneous determination of weight change and caloric reactions in one run. Optional gas and vapor dosing systems as well as residual gas analysis is available.

All LINSEIS thermo analytical instruments are PC controlled. The individual software modules exclusively run under Microsoft® Windows® operating systems. The complete software consists of 3 modules: temperature control, data acquisition and data evaluation. The 32 bit software incorporates all essential features for measurement preparation, execution, and evaluation of a STA measurement. Thanks to our specialists and application experts, LINSEIS was able to develop comprehensive easy to understand user friendly application software.

        • TPD, TPO, TPR measurements (-196 to 1800 °C)

        TPD, TPO and TPR measurements:

The distribution and relative strength of acid sites in zeolithes are important indicators of its catalytic properties. The acidity of zeolithes can be accurately measured with the temperature programmed desorption (TPD) of a base from the zeolithe surface. The Linseis gravimetric Sorption Analyzers are useful tools for characterizing TPD, TPO or TPR profiles.

The figure below shows the chemidesorption of ammonia from a zeolithe catalyst surface. Weakly bound ammonia molecules are desorped between 100 and 250 °C. Between 260 and 500 °C strongly bound ammonia is desorped. The amounts of desorped ammonia can be quantitatively measured, i.e. it is possible to quantitatively identify the number of strong and weak acid sites present in the sample.

        In-Situ FTIR:

In-situ FTIR measurement during CO2 gasification of an anthracite in a TGA system (sample temperature: 1100°C, pure CO2 atmosphere [gas flow rate: 20 ml/min at 273 K, 0.013 bar] during FTIR measurement, FTIR measurement: 30 s, CO absorption at 4300 cm-1, CO2 absorption at 4900 cm-1).
